I finally posted some new pictures here, so I wanted to give a little update as well.  As you might have guessed, Clifford has grown up a little in the last five months.  As I sit typing this he is crawling all over the living room entertaining himself and pulling up on the tables, chairs, guitars, etc in the room....whatever he can find. :)  He's not saying a ton yet, but he loves to play peek-a-boo and we're starting to get him to understand what we mean when we say, "No!"
He continues to be a blessing and a delightful child.  People around us are always remarking on how well he behaves.  He's quiet during the sermon at church, but he loves to sing if there's music playing.  He went through a couple months of stranger anxiety where he would scream if Eric and I weren't around, but he seems to be coming out of that as he spent this afternoon with his Uncle Marc yesterday with no problems.
All in all, he's doing great and we couldn't be happier to have him in our lives.
Eric continues to work hard with the choirs and praise band at church.  Right now he is off playing trumpet and running sound for a wedding.  He's also been busy geocaching.  I bought him a GPS receiver for Christmas, and we've really enjoyed caching.  Over the last month he has worked hiding our first one, and people seem to be enjoying it.  It's been a great way to go and visit parks we might not otherwise have, and we're getting some good exercise in too. :)
I'm now about one year away from being done with residency, so we're starting to talk about what's next.  It looks like for now we will try to stay in this area so we can wait for the housing market to get better.  I've decided to do general pediatrics, meaning I will see patients in an office outside the hospital for their general well care and day-to-day problems.  I've really enjoyed getting to know the kids in my current clinic and watching them grow and stay healthy!  Some of you know that I had originally planned on doing hospital work, and that I was dead set against clinic work, however I feel like God has changed my heart and is pushing me in this new direction.  I know that this whole medicine thing was His idea anyway, so I can only trust that He'll continue to steer me wherever I need to go.
I was able to take a vacation for the first week of June and Eric's birthday, so we stayed home and did lots of fun local things.  Marc came and we travelled to our nearest Monical's Pizza (our FAVORITE pizza) which is 3 hours away in Kankakee, IL.  We drove there, doing a little geocaching on the way, ate pizza, and turned around and came home.  A little nuts but lots of fun.  Then we went to the Kalamazee AirZoo, essentially a museum full of airplaines, which the boys all loved.  We went to a minor league baseball game, kayaking (without Clifford), and spent a day with Eric's parents at Grand Haven beach.  It was a great week and there's lots of pictures of all our events in the gallery.
We're looking forward to an IL trip during the first week of August.  We'll be getting together with my WHOLE family for the first time in a couple of years, and spending time with Eric's family and hopefully most of our Illinois friends that we miss so much!
I apologize for the dreadful lack of posts here, but I will try and be a little more faithful in the coming months.  God bless you all and keep in touch!
